Squid waits for the Shanny to abandon its cover to catch it. Shanny, in turn, intends to catch the squid, thus waiting for the right moment...

Squid and grotto are carved from red deer's antler. Shanny is carved from boxwood.
Eyes are inlayed with Baltic amber. Shanny's teeth are carved from bone.
Khimatoshi lined up in such a way that fish is held inside the grotto with a cord.
