Set of two ojime - frog and midge. The frog is a big sized ojime and can be used as netsuke, I think.

These ojime are carved from mammoth tusk and stained with yashadama. Eyes of frog are inlaid with amber. The spots on the frog are inlaid with mother-of-pearl (Pinctada margaritifera).

Each bump (around 0,6-0,8 mm in diameter each!) on bottom of frog is carved by hand, no ukibori.

Natural himatoshi are formed by frog fingers.

The signature is at the bottom of amber mounting.

The top wings of midge have natural color of dark bark of mammoth tusk.
