The netsuke is carved of coffee tree´s wood brought by my friend from El Salvador.

This netsuke makes a pair with Spring Song netsuke, as I wanted to carve a lady to the monster-man singing its spring song of love. I´ve tried to make the monster-lady emotional and expressive.

The eyes are inlaid with mammoth tusk, the pupils are of jet.
