Quite often, seemingly lifeless and outdated objects and situations appear to hide the potential of something new, fresh and bright. You just need to look inside these dry twisted leaves. Then we can perceive that very soon a beautiful rainbow-bright iridescent butterfly will emerge...

This netsuke is carved from the red deer (Cervus elaphus) antler and stained for effect. The pupa is carved from tagua nut and stained as well. The butterfly's eyes are inlaid with mother-of-pearl. The signature reserve is inlaid with Baltic amber.
