It´s an order. The customer would like to see the netsuke of a cat with an arched back in threatening pose. I´ve tried to express an impression from old Japanese netsuke.
The netsuke is carved of African ebony, the eyes are inlaid with mother-of-pearl and jet, the fangs are of mammoth tusk.
